  1. That’s a pretty preposterous comparison, along those lines of thinking everyone gets a free newspaper under the First Amendment.

    The Second Amendment reads “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”, do you know of anyone in a “well regulated Militia” that has any Arms that can keep the security of the free State against an M1A2 Abrams Tank? A truck load of AR-15’s is not going to stop a tank, especially if the “Militia” is in poor health. I would argue “well regulated” would include basic health care.

    In my reading of just to preamble of The Constitution, I see “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”, all of which are pretty hard to do when you are in ill health. I would wager “general Welfare” would include not being dead or bedridden.

    Lastly the idea that if you can’t pay a corrupt medical system to stay alive that you deserve to die is so inhumane, barbaric and frankly not that it matters politically unlike Christ.

    Lets think this through and see if we can rise above the fear, and become a truly great nation.
